Granola

12-14 cups old fashioned oatmeal
1 cup slivered almonds or nuts of choice
1 cup high protein
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1 cup dry milk, non-instant
1 cup raisins or chopped dates
1 pkg Special K, the original variety
1 cup honey
1 cup oil
1 cup brown sugar

Mix all dry ingredients together, except the dates in a large bowl.  Bring honey, sugar, oil and salt just to a boil and mix thoroughly with dry ingredients.  Put cereal in large shallow pans and bake in oven at 225 for 2 hours stirring every 15 minutes.  When golden brown, remove from oven and add dates.
