MaryAnn’s Sugar Cookies

            MaryAnn’s  (Dad’s favorite)  Sugar Cookies

4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup butter
1 heaping cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp soda
¼ cup milk
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt, and cut in the butter with a pastry blender as for pie.  In another bowl, add the soda to the sugar, and when well mixed add to the beaten eggs, milk and vanilla.  Now pour this into the flour mixture and mix until smooth.  Roll out and cut with a cookie cutter.  Bake at 375 until lightly browned.
