Our New Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.  Beat in eggs and vanilla.  Add flour, baking soda, and salt.  Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.  Using a 1 inch diameter cookie scoop, place cookie balls on parchment paper on a cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.  Cool on cookie sheet a couple of minutes before removing to a cooling rack.  Or they may be baked in a convection oven at 325 degrees for 8-9 minutes.
