            Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

1 cup shortening

1 1/8 cup sugar

9 oz. chocolate chips, melted and cooled

2 eggs

3/8 cup light corn syrup

1 ½ tsp. vanilla

3 cups flour

1 ½ tsp. baking soda

3/8 tsp. salt

Powdered sugar

    Beat shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, beating well.  Add melted chocolate, egg, corn syrup, and vanilla; beat well.  Combine flour, soda, and salt; stir into chocolate mixture.

    Shape dough into 1 ½ inch balls, and roll in powdered sugar; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake at 350 for 9-10 minutes, do not overbake.
