Spiced Meatballs

        Spiced Meatballs

1 pound ground beef

2 eggs, well beaten

¾ cup Italian breadcrumbs

2 T. finely chopped onion

½ tsp salt

½ tsp prepared horseradish

¼ tsp pepper

1/8 tsp hot sauce

2 to 3 T butter, melted

½ cup catsup

½ cup chili sauce

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3 T cider vinegar

2 T. finely chopped onion

1 T Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp dry mustard

¼ tsp pepper

4 drops of hot sauce

    Combine first 8 ingredients; mix well, and shape into 1-inch balls.  Saute meatballs in butter until browned; drain and set aside.

    Combine remaining ingredients in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes.  Add meatballs,, and simmer an additional 10 minutes.  Transfer to chafing dish, and deep warm.
