Sweet and Sour Meatballs

            Sweet and Sour Meatballs

1 lb hamburger

2 T dried onion

¼ tsp pepper

1 tsp salt

1 egg, beaten

½ cup bread crumbs

1 (12 oz) jar chili sauce

1 (16 oz) jar grape jelly

In a medium bow, combine meatball ingredients.  Shape into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.  Place under the broiler in oven for 5-7 minutes or until the meatballs begin to brown.  Turn the meatballs over and brown the other side.

Combine jelly and chili sauce in a cast iron pan or slow cooker and stir until smooth.  Heat the mixture if needed to combine.  Add the meatballs.  In a slow cooker, set the temperature to low and cook for 2-5 hours.  In the cast iron pan, put on the lid and heat at 350° in the oven for 20 minutes.
