Toffee Brownie Squares

Brownies

Cream:

3 cups sugar

1 ½ cups butter

Add one at a time:

6 eggs

2 cups flour

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa

3 tsp vanilla

1 C chocolate chips (optional)

Bake at 350° for 40 minutes in a 13 x 9 pan.

Topping

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

1 ½ cups whipping cream

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup chopped chocolate-covered English Toffee candy bars (4 1.4 oz bars)

In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, brown sugar on medium speed until smooth. On high speed, beat in whipping cream and vanilla until soft peaks form.

Spread cream cheese mixture over cooled brownies. Sprinkle 1 cup chopped candy bars over top. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
